Oh yeah... I transferred all my b2 stuff to Wordpress so now I'm all up to date with PHP and XHTML and all that.

But jeez I had a hard time of it. WP is 'the new b2" so it shouldn't be that difficult to switch over... but for some reason, even with my knowledge of SQL and stuff it still managed not to work. When I was about to start my blog entries over again, it finally worked but it wouldn't stop putting backslashes in front of all the apostrophes. Found a fix for that, fixed up my pages and comments how I want them to look... aaaand here we are. Woopeedoo. Heh, I'm quite proud of myself.

Another thing I'm proud of myself for is for replacing the clock battery in my parents' PC this morning. Make note that while I have seen an open pc before, I had never actually taken one apart myself. Nor did I know exactly where this batt thing went... so I was kinda pleased with myself for not only successfully doing all of that, but also for having the pc working at the end. XD
Got a bit scared when it started giving me weird errors at the start ("CMOS Checksum Error" o.O) but after a restart everything seems alright. For now. *cackle*

Meh. Can't you tell I'm bored, posting about how I took a comp apart... Well, that's a major event for me... Yeah...

Still no luck on the job front. Why is no one recruiting down here at the moment? Sucky. Very sucky.

Also sucky: England out of Euro 2004. I don't really follow football but most of the people around me do so... yeah. England never win anything in any tournement so I was kinda hoping maybe they'd get a little further than the quarter-finals. But hey. It happened. Get ooooover it. It really annoys me that some people take this whole football thing waaaaay too seriously. Like some guys attacking a portuguese pub yesterday just cos Portugal beat England. I mean... Yeah, we lost, but it's not the portuguese people's fault... Maybe the players might have had something to do with it (or the ref for that matter) but not those who live over here.

End of rant.

There used to be a time when I'd always be updating my blog with something. Now it seems like it's almost a chore... I look at the last post date and think 'hmmm I should probably update that' but when it comes to doing it I have nothing to say so I just ramble about what updates I've made.

Well I updated the currently info and put an excellent little script on there that I found on CodeGrrl.com. Of course, it's about the same amount of editing that I did when editing my current info manually... but whatever, this has a fun interfacey-type design and stuff so... yeah. A break from the norm.

I said ages ago that I was gonna convert this here bloggy to Wordpress so as to get rid of all the b2 bugs... but as usual I've had the time but not the energy... I know how to do it but I just can't be bothered and stuff. Yeah. Might do it now while I wait for the boyfriend to finally turn up...

Went to visit some flats up in Warrington on Saturday. I know I said I'd never move out of Reading, but to be honest I'm kinda thinking of Warrington as my second home and I like it up there. It might be in the cold and rainy north but who cares, the prices up there are waaaay cheaper than down here in the south. We decided on a 2-bed apartment, the only one which was furnished. However it's waaaaay too expensive so I guess we're gonna have to work and save like mad over these next few months. But... ooooh I'm so in love with that place, I wanna move there like, now! XD

Anyway. Gonna see what I can do about WP. I've already got it on another part of my site so I know exactly how to configure it and such, it's just the whole backing-up and restoration of all the MySQL stuff of the b2 blog. Considering I've done it all before I shouldn't have any problems... but knowing me...

Yeah. I'll get to it. In a minute/hour/week/year.

Well I'm home again, managed to move all my stuff out of my uni room (sob) and come back down here to dear old Reading. Jeez it's hot down here. I mean it was hot up north but not quite this hot. Whew... I'm gonna have to dig out all my summer stuff *puts shades on* yeeeeaaaah...

Ummm... let's see... what else is there to mention? Not a lot really, I still haven't got my job sorted out but I do have an idea about my accommodation next year if I've passed this year. If I haven't... Well, screw uni. Didn't like it anyway.

Sorry I haven't updated in ages. I've been ill. Yes, again. Went to my grandparents' golden wedding celebrations and there I was, ill again. Grrr. Anyway, it's over now. Uni's over, work is over, everything's cool so I can update my site again. Yayness (sarcasm. Or not. Dunno.)
