Bits and pieces

I can't decide on anything interesting to blog about (if I ever do blog about anything interesting, that is) so here is a nice list of things to read instead.

  • I have been reviewed for the first time in two years (thanks Sarah!). Woo!

  • I still can't come up with a new layout for this site.

  • I am free of university essays for a month!

  • I wish people would stop using popup windows on their sites. I can't open them. They crash my computer every time and it's really, really annoying. Most people from the Q*Bee like to put their quilts in little popups - please don't, I can't view your quilt and/or trade with you if you do that. I'm not kidding, any type of popup will crash my computer in any browser. I have popup blockers/diverters and all sorts to try and help the problem (yes, I've tried disabling them) and while it helps for some sites, it doesn't work for everything.

  • Why did coding something I've been meaning to do for a while seem very appealing before my essays were due in, and now they're done it seems like the most arduous task in the world?

Heh, I used to get that last one all the time at uni. No wonder I never work on sk.log any more; I have much less to procrastinate about nowadays. >_O

Yay for being free from essays! That must be a nice break. :D

I'm not a pop-up fan either. I hate having more windows listed on my start menu. If I can open it in a tab in Firefox then woot! And the windows are so TINY too! I have a big screen on my laptop I have to squint half the time to read the text and see the images! :(

Also you know what else ticks me off about people's quilts lately...I've seen a couple that are like "rules for trading: you must not have stolen images on your site, don't spam me, be a member of q*bee" and I think that just sounds snobbish. That and newbees lately don't seem to understand how to trade...they either don't email back or they just say "thanks!" and then I have to go root around for their quilt trade info, find the right email, etc. ARG!

Ok must remember...Amelie's site is not Melissa's personal venting forum. XD

Anyhoo...hehe. Yeah it's procrastination at it's finest. I *need* to finish my portfolio site but I don't wanna! It sounded so fun last week when I was cramming for finals and such but now I'm lazy... :P

    Woo, long comment. :D

I have my firefox set so that pop ups open in new tabs - I haven't seen a pop up in ages. It should work fine if you have the right settings and the right extensions (I use Tab Mix Plus)....

I hate essays, I may get full marks on 99 out of 100 essays I write, but it doesn't change the fact that I hate writing them.

I also hate pop ups. They mess up my two-year-old laptop. They don't to my five-year-old desktop, but it still bothers me to have to see them.

As for the last bullet that you listed, I'm the same way. A big website project is so exciting...until I actually start working on it. Then it's a chore.

Congrats on being reviewed. I know what you mean on the popup windows... there is absolutely NO NEED for them! I am also free from essays for about a month. It feels amazing, but then I think of the five 2-hour exams I have coming up. Blah.
