Yes, my laptop died. Support people said motherboard was fried. It's being taken away on Tuesday, the day when my essay should be in. Of course, the essays were in progress on said laptop and cannot be retrieved. Hard disk is welded in and impossible to get out. :'( I had planned on putting it into the boyfriend's computer (which I'm on now) but alas, it is not to be.
What I really don't get is that it was working this morning, and three hours later it was dead.
Trust this to happen 48 hours before the stupid essay deadline.
RIP laptop. You'll be missed A LOT, believe me. :'( :'( :'(
Edit: Got the hard drive out and into the boyfriend's computer so all is not lost. My laptop is going for repair under its extended warranty, which means any repairs will be free. Unfortunately, if they can't fix it, I'll have to get a new one (or the boyfriend will, since his is now mine MWAHAHAHA). Though come to think of it, that might not be such a bad thing... DVD writing? Yes please. Wireless technology? Yes please. Faster? Meh, not necessary. Though of course I would like my darling laptop to stay with me and I'd go without those extra features if it would come back... *Pokes it* No? ... No. Darn.

So sorry about your laptop. Computers are the damndest things. I can't believe that happened 2 days before the essay was due but at least you got the hard drive out and into your bf's computer so I'm assuming you didn't have to start over. That would have been so frustrating. Good luck with the computer issue!

I'd really like to get a laptop before we travel for another child, but with the death rate of my computers I think I'm better off just renting one for the duration of the trip and not being out $700+ for one I'll more than likely destroy!
BTW love love love the layout, black and white hotness!
