I'm back! Florida was amazing - we spent most of our time in theme parks and it was scorchingly hot - much better than the flooding that happened here in the UK. We stayed in a villa/townhouse sort of thing. It had its own private pool and it was absolutely gorgeous. If I had the sort of money required to buy a place like that then I'd certainly do it. The boyfriend's parents (who do have that sort of money...) are looking into getting a place permanently on a timeshare or something though, oooooh.
I was quite amazed at how used to the US I got. Normally when I go abroad I feel weird until I get back home... This time I was confused by the car licence plates (yellow and long, with a front plate obligatory), surprised to see the steering wheel on the right hand side of the car, and also the fact that people have amber-coloured indicators here (in the US most cars appear to flash their brake lights to indicate)... I found the sockets (electrical outlets) strange too, I kept expecting them to look like the US ones. What I didn't find odd was driving on the left of the road - I could never quite get used to being on the right. Every time we took a left turn I was glad I wasn't driving - I would have forgotten to go to the right hand side of the new road -_-
Anyway. I have pictures - about 700 of them - but I haven't sorted them out or posted them anywhere. I had no internet on my holiday except at the airport on the way back, so it wasn't quite that easy to upload stuff.
Now then... I have a Harry Potter book to finish reading. I know, shut up. I'm about two thirds of the way through, but seeing as I only got back from my holiday yesterday, I'm a day behind everyone else in reading it :P Oh, and if you're going to post any spoilers then don't bother... Someone thought it would be funny to email me absolutely everything that happens so there's nothing I don't know already. Blah.

Glad you had a great time on vacation...I mean HOLIDAY! I've never been to Florida myself, so I'm quite jealous. Can't wait to see the photos!

its so amazing how almost every blog i've been to today is talking about harry potter..and seems like the whole world is reading the book together..like they're in some kind of competition..lol..

^ Yes, sort of. I was disappointed, but I don't know whether it's just because I knew it was all over or because I wanted it to end differently or whatever. I think I'll have to read it again to be sure!

Oooh Florida, I'm so jealous! I was in Florida in 1986 and in 1998 - in 98 I also spent most of my time in Walt Disney World, which was soo amazing! I wish I could live in a theme park. I love those Fantasy Worlds and Thrill Rides and all that stuff, and even the water parks they have there... Fantastic. I actually spent a lot of today reading wikipedia articles about theme parks in Orlando (after I read one about the planned Harry Potter theme park) - I'm such a (sentimental) geek.

^ Hehe yeah, I was a bit annoyed to find out they'll be building the HP theme park and I will probably not be able to go to Florida again :( And we went to Islands of Adventure (where the HP park will be) as well - argh!
