*Grumble* Just sat down to eat (very late) lunch and dropped my fork on the floor. Gaaah.
Anyway. Thank you for your message board suggestions, it seems that SNOG! was a popular choice so I joined. Heh.
Uni started again today. It felt weird to be there again, kinda like I was expecting to redo the first year for the third time. Not on campus this year, which is a bit strange, but I think I'll get used to it. It's far more quiet and a lot more private. Plus, I don't get stupid restricted internet which filters out even words like "crap" and intrusive cleaners. I do have to pay a bit more for this place, but I have my own bathroom, lounge, and kitchen. I don't have to live in one room the whole time. Though I must admit, that was quite nice. Having everything in one place is good; here I'm always wondering where I put stuff. Meh.
So... a whole day of second year web awaits me tomorrow. I'm more excited about that than I was about today's Media Institutions and Audiences lecture (snoooore) but web is hardly ever anything practical. It normally involves 2 hours of watching a powerpoint presentation about why and how Dreamweaver is great. Blah. Looking forward to the cross-browser parts though. I've been having a nightmare convincing IE to listen to my background positioning, and I hate having to make a whole separate stylesheet for that stupid excuse for a browser. Luckily we don't have to use the worst browser ever released - IE Mac - this year. *Shudders* IE Win looks like a wonderfully stable and fully compliant browser next to that. Hopefully cross-browser classes will sort some of that out. Next time I think I'll just leave my layouts looking like crap in IE, maybe it'll convince people to switch. Why is it acceptable for people who use only IE to have layouts looking horrible in compliant browsers, but not the other way round? "0MgZzZz!!!111!1 uR sit3 t0tAllY do3sNt w3rKkKK11!!!11one" *Rolls eyes* The number of sites I've seen that don't work in anything other than IE is astonishing. I'm not just talking about personal sites here - there are corporate ones too... *Cough*Microsoft*cough*
Right, I'm done. Lunch is cold now. Stupid fork.
