I'm back :P

Ra-ness, I'm back from my holiday. It was nice, except for a few factors that weren't.

  1. Kids.  I especially booked this break before the schools were out, so that we'd have less of the obnoxious spoilt brats around. Well, it seems that parents these days don't really care when the schools end, they take their kids on holiday anyway. Yes, the prices are cheaper, but you make it really bad for other people when you do that. Allow to me to elaborate... We went swimming, as you do when you're on holiday (well I do anyway). Before we could even enter the pool, we had to find a changing room... all of which were "family size", full, and even worse, smelly. When at last we found some normal ones, we were instructed to remove all footwear before going through to the lockers. I hate when pools tell you this, as they are THE place to get verucas, corns, etc. But here was even worse - the whole locker/corridor to pool/showers compartment was soaking wet and smelt really, really strongly of urine. There were young kids screaming and running around, being annoying, and because they didn't want to go to the toilet before they went swimming, they went on the floor. And what did the parents do about it? Nothing. *Screams* That was after numerous children banged on every single changing room door to see if it was free. They didn't knock, oh no - they banged. Hard. URGH. And after all that, they're all in the pool splashing about and causing trouble. Bah.
  2. Crowds.  Everything was pretty much fully booked. I hate having to wait for stuff... and I don't like sharing things I'm supposed to have booked for myself. So ner. :P
  3. Prices.  I thought that everything was pre-paid for this type of holiday. Wrong! That was just for the accommodation, and that was hugely expensive. A week for over £700?! If I'd have known I probably wouldn't have gone there. Anyway, we went to a spa which cost us an extra £30 per person (for 3 hours! I mean... overcharged or what) and it wasn't even that great.
  4. Restaurants.  ...well, more the cleanliness thereof. The kids argument comes into this aswell (I hate being sat next to screaming kids!!! Argh.) but most of all, it's just down to lazy staff. Who, I might add, spent the entire meal chatting to someone they knew and not taking care of any other guests. This was only one meal in one resto, but yeah. Anyway, cleanliness. The tables were all sticky (ew) and there was food all over the floors. One particular café we went to had cockroaches on the floor of its eating area. O.O
  5. PMT.  Just... bah.

Anyway, enough ranting. Most of it was pretty good even though I was absolutely awful at most of the activities we did (archery, badminton, bowling, pool... sigh) whereas those I was with managed to be really good. As per usual.

Soooo... I should probably be contacting a client. I said I'd do it over a week ago and I still haven't. >.< They'll never be able to make a decision by Wednesday if I don't get back to them before that. Bad me.

I'm off to my grandparents' place in France for a week or so. Speak to you all when I get back.

*Runs off to watch Live 8 instead of packing* :P
